Reframing the dementia conversation through neuroscience, art, and lived experience

Expose Dementia Conference

Wisdom Watch Alliance proudly supports the Expose Dementia Conference, an immersive gathering that blends neuroscience and the arts to challenge stigma and center the voices of caregivers and people living with dementia. The conference takes place in metro Baltimore (Linthicum Heights, Md.) from March 19 through March 21, 2026.

Founded by C. Nathaniel "Chuck" Brown, a charter member of Wisdom Watch Alliance and the filmmaker behind “Remember Me: Dementia in the African American Community,” Expose Dementia brings together academics, clinicians, artists, advocates, and families to reshape how we see and speak about dementia. This is more than a conference. It is a shift in narrative. Link here for the conference website.

Helping Richmond Caregivers Attend

Wisdom Watch Alliance is partnering with local allies—including the Span Center, DARS, and Home Helpers—in a Richmond-based initiative called Pathway to Expose Dementia, created to reduce barriers to attendance for the conference's Saturday, March 21st, session that is devoted especially to caregivers.

Through this effort, we are supporting:

  • Caregiver scholarships

  • Respite navigation and local in-home respite connections

  • Logistical guidance and coordination with community partners

Caregivers deserve restorative, culturally grounded spaces. Access should be as widely available as possible.

If you are a metro Richmond caregiver interested in learning more, contact Wisdom Watch Alliance by email at info@wisdomwatchalliance.org, or by phone at 804-687-6580, for details. Act quickly, as the availability of respite vouchers and the number of scholarships are limited. Through respite vouchers, caregivers are able to be reimbursed for care for their partner and are allowed to select their own respite provider.
